Morphologic Description: Of medium size, moderately slender. Protoconch consists of 2 to 2 1/2 volutions; its outer lip is sinusigerous. Teleoconch whorls up to 6 1/2. Profile of spire whorls straight to slightly convex. Axial sculpture prominent. Axial ribs orthocline to slightly prosocline. There are 13 to 17 axial ribs on early spire whorls and 15 to 21 axial ribs on the penultimate whorl. Spire whorls somewhat shouldered. On the body whorl the shoulder is accentuated by a spiral cord. Axial ribs absent on last half of body whorl. Base of body whorl sculptured by a varying number of spiral cord. Usually the upper part of the body whorl is smooth except for faint, almost orthocline growth lines, but sometimes that area carries some spiral lines. Outer lip thickened, somewhat extended adapically; its inner surface with denticles of varying prominence. Columellar callus well developed, with a varying number of denticles. Parietal callus fairly thick, with a moderately prominent ridge bordering the short posterior canal. Anterior canal short, slightly recurved.

Holotype: PRI 28736 (Río Gurabo at Los Quemados, Dominican Republic, Maury's (1917a,b) Zones D and E, Gurabo Formation, late Miocene).

Distribution: Late Miocene: Upper part of Cercado Formation and lower part of the Gurabo Formation of the Río Gurabo and Río Cana sections, Dominican Republic.
