Museum Studies Service Learning students, SGE members and Geoscience graduate students show off their artistic talent, painting banners for the 2011 Creepy Campus Crawl, creating a Kraken tunnel and dressing up to entertain visitors.

Guests were invited to "walk the plank" (go downstairs) and join in activities provided by the Department of Geoscience, Paleontology Repository, SGE, and the Iowa Geological and Water Survey.

Two hundred and forty-four people visited during the evening. Well done everyone!

Iowa State Fair 2011. This year the Paleontology Repository teamed up with the UI Museum of Natural History to present "What on Earth? A look at the weird and wonderful world of Natural History."

Visitors discovered a range of objects including a model of a sabre-tooth cat skull, an eclogite, a 1.4 billion-year-old piece of rock, and lots of fossils, some of which they were able to find themselves and take home, thanks to a donation by the Mid America Paleontology Society.
